Team Spirit announced on X that two of their TI-winning members, Yatoro and Mira, are going inactive.

Team Spirit announced on Sept. 18 that two of their TI-winning members, Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk and Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov, are going inactive.

TI-winning players take a break

According to Team Spirit’s statement, two key Dota 2 players, Yatoro and Mira, will go inactive and temporarily step away from the competition. The announcement mentioned that after four intense years of matches, training, and travel, they’ve decided to take a break. Both players have consistently pushed their limits and achieved remarkable success. However, maintaining that level of intensity is challenging for any player. Team Spirit wished them well, hoping they enjoy their time off.

Yatoro also shared his thoughts on his Telegram channel. He mentioned that despite his hard work and focus over the past year, he didn’t achieve the results he wanted. This made him reflect on whether he could maintain the same passion and energy in the upcoming season. He made it clear that he’s not leaving Dota 2 for good, but rather taking time to recharge and will eventually return.

The player added that working with the same team for years made him realize that he couldn’t keep up the same intensity for every match. He needs time to reset and reignite his drive for competition. During this break, he plans to rest but may still stream some Dota 2 content. He also expressed full confidence in Team Spirit’s future under Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov's leadership.

A difficult year for two-time TI champions

Yatoro and Mira are among the most memorable underdogs in TI history. In 2021, they made their debut on the international stage and shocked the world by winning TI10, the highest prize pool in esports history. In the following season, they proved their skills again by winning the Arlington Major in 2022.

In 2023, they had another successful year, winning both Riyadh Masters and TI12, the two biggest prize pool tournaments of the year. However, Team Spirit’s performance declined in the TI13 season. Aside from winning PGL Wallachia Season 1, they only managed to reach 7-8th place at Riyadh Masters and exited TI13 early in 9-12th place.
