Team Spirit's bad start to the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring

The 1win Series Dota 2 Spring event began on March 16, pitting eight teams in an online setting. While this tournament includes underdogs like MOUZ and 1win, the participant lineup is also accompanied by star teams like Team Spirit and Team Liquid.

This 4-day tournament kickstarted with a shocking result for the two-time The International champs, Team Spirit. During the BO1 phase in Group Stage, Spirit dropped a game against the new Dota 2 team on the block, MOUZ. This team comprises familiar names from Europe and Southeast Asia, fielding players like Supream^ and FORCE.

In the 41 minute show, Spirit was completely outplayed and outmaneuvered by MOUZ. The final score sees 51 kills for MOUZ with only 13 on the side of Spirit. This insane kill score is courtesy of Ulnit's dominant Sven, who scored a 22/2/6 KDA. But this unexpected loss could also be due to the absence of Spirit's pos 4, Mira, who was apparently replaced by the team's manager, Korb3n. This minor roster change however, was not reflected on Liquipedia.

Despite a bad start, Team Spirit recovered to accumulate wins - this time with Mira playing in the lineup. They got their revenge against MOUZ in the decider series, beating their opponent 2-0. They clinched second place behind Entity, who hasn't lost a single game.

PSG Quest eliminated from the 1win Series

In Group A, there were prominent favorites and dark horses. Liquid has consistently been on top so their success was more than expected. PSG Quest is a strong force but we do have doubts in how their performance is outside of the MENA region this year. Virtus.pro is also a powerful team from Eastern Europe (EEU) but they have their moment of instability.

Many would expect Liquid and PSG Quest to make it into the Playoffs. This bias might also stem from Quest's former glorious run during the 2023 season. However, after ATF left the team, Quest wasn't quite the threat that it used to be. Quest even lost a game to L1GA Team, a new name in the Eastern European scene, led by RAMZES666. Ultimately, Virtus.pro and Liquid advance to the next stage, meanwhile L1GA Team and Quest face elimination.
