Ahead of The International 2023, PSG forms a partnership with Quest as part of their dedication toward Qatari Esports.

Paris Saint-Germain is making a return to Dota 2 just one month after dropping LGD Gaming as their sponsored team in September 2023. The red and blue stripes of Paris Saint-Germain that the Chinese powerhouse wore, now moves to the Western European region, as PSG sponsors Quest Esports. Introducing, PSG Quest:

PSG partners with Quest as part of the Qatari association

In a press release submitted on its website, PSG stated: "Quest is much more than just an Esports team, it is the symbol of Qatar's entry into the global competitive video gaming arena. Their links with local projects, such as the partnership with the Qatar Esports Federation and the collaboration with the Qatar Football Federation, underline their desire to integrate esports into broader sporting sectors in Qatar."

One of the speculated reasons that PSG has struck a deal with Quest is due to the organization's affiliations to Qatar. For one, the football club is owned by the Qatar Sports Investments. PSG also has a branding partnership with Qatar Airways. Meanwhile, Quest Esports manages operations in Turkey, Lebanon, and Qatar.

Quest Esports Chief Executive Officer, Elie Gemayel, also added that partnering with PSG will serve as a reflection of their commitment to Qatar's vision for esports. The PSG Quest Gaming House is located in Istanbul.

Can they replicate the success PSG had with LGD?

Prior to its partnership with Quest, PSG had ventured with LGD for the past five years. Together they have made numerous incredible accomplishments. This includes:

  • Becoming top three TI finalists on 2018, 2019 and 2021
  • Winners of Changsa Major in 2018 WePlay Animajor and in 2021
  • Champions of Riyadh Masters 2022

In the recent months, Quest had shown proof of their potential despite being an upstart. They came from Division 2 of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit and clawed all their way to qualifying for TI12. Very soon they will debut their first TI match against the South American Keyd Stars on October 12, 2:00 p.m. PST.
