All teams in Group A:
- BetBoom Team
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Azure Ray
- Team Secret
- Blacklist International
- Wawitas Sagazes
Group A looks incredibly spicy with a couple of strong teams headlining the group which makes them an easy pick as the "group of death". BetBoom Team, Gaimin Gladiators, and Azure Ray - which all performed well during The International 12 (TI12) - are sorted into Group A. However, do note that Azure Ray's lineup is no longer the same as during TI12.
Team Secret, which smashed its way through the ESL One Kuala Lumpur Western Europe qualifiers, is definitely a threat in the group. Despite a lackluster showing throughout the entire season, the team has seemingly found its spark following the post-TI roster shuffle. With Puppey and MidOne teaming up once again, this team might found its old glory in this tournament.
Blacklist International is an intimidating force from Southeast Asia, especially with the return of Filipino's golden boy, Abed. The team of Filipino stars booked their tickets to the tournament through the SEA Qualifiers, defeating teams like Aurora and Talon Esports.
Wawitas Sagazes may be a new name in the scene, but its players are renowned South American stars. The team, comprising international players like DarkMago and Panda, prevailed ahead of other SA forces like BOOM Esports and Keyd Stars.

All teams in Group B:
- 9Pandas
- Team Liquid
- LGD Gaming
- Team Falcons
- Invictus Gaming
- TSM
Group B sees an interesting mix with favorites and dark horses in the pool.
Team Liquid absolutely destroyed Western Europe's Qualifier - to no surprise - and made their way to the tournament convincingly. 9Pandas came second in the Eastern European Qualifier behind BetBoom Team - filling in the additional slot left by Team Spirit.
There is no question in regards to LGD Gaming's potential. It is indeed the most consistent team in history and the team never fails to deliver. Though their new roster would be the biggest question mark coming into this tournament.
An interesting presence in Group B at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur is definitely Team Falcons. Falcons is a new organization in the scene, now fielding TI champions and young stars like ATF. Falcons came ahead of PSG Quest in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Qualifier.
Invictus Gaming is also an exciting team to follow in Group B. The team has some of the strongest names, not only in China but also in Southeast Asia. The team fields players like NothingToSay, Monet, and xNova.
Last but not least, North America's strongest force, TSM will join the pool. TSM hasn't been under the international spotlight for a long time, but when it comes to regional performance - they don't really disappoint.
