DPC EEU 2023 Tour 1: Division I details

Last year, the EEU region's Dota 2 scene faced an unfortunate setback due to the Ukraine-Russia war which led to a phase of dormancy in EEU. However, this year sees a more stable beginning with all teams set on their journey to The International 2023.

For each season, the top four teams in Division I EEU earn DPC points. But only the top three will acquire a slot in the next Dota 2 Major.

DPC EEU 2023 Tour 1: Division I team preview

All eight teams in EEU DPC Division I are Virtus.pro, NAVI, Team Spirit, Nemiga, HellRaisers, BetBoom Team, One Move, and Darkside. The EEU region might just field one of the most competitive lineup in its upper division. Let's take a look at the faces of EEU Division I.

Virtus.pro

  • Alexandr "krylat" Krylatov
  • Ilya "squad1x" Kuvaldin
  • Evgeniy "Noticed" Ignatenko
  • Oleg "sayuw" Kalenbet
  • Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin

VP starts fresh in 2023 as they have rebuilt an entirely new roster. But it faced a controversy when its carry player, Koma', received a lifetime ban from Valve due to account sharing - and the team scrambled to find his replacement. krylat assumes the pos 1 position and will be playing alongside a young, inexperienced, midlaner (squad1x), former BetBoom offlaner (Noticed), former One Move player (sayuw), and former support for Alliance (Dukalis).

NAVI

  • Alik "V-Tune" Vorobey
  • Nikita "Nicky`Cool" Ostakhov
  • Vladislav "laise" Lais
  • Georgii "swedenstrong" Zainalabidov
  • Arman "Malady" Orazbayev

NAVI retains three of its players as the renowned duo, Noone and Solo leave to join separate teams. The organization brought in two Kazakhstani players, Nicky`Cool, who last played for Rune Eaters, and Malady, who last captained HellRaisers.

Team Spirit

  • Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk
  • Denis "Larl" Sigitov
  • Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov
  • Miroslaw "Mira" Kolpakov
  • Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov

For the first time since 2021, Team Spirit sees a change in its lineup. The TI10 champions head into the new season with a new midlaner, Larl, who last played for BetBoom. Many have praised Larl's impressive performance last season and it'll be interesting to see how Spirit performs with a new central piece.

Darkside

  • Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
  • Maxim "re1bl" Afanasyev
  • Vladislav "DkFogas" Frolov
  • Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosian
  • Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev

Darkside is a new team formed under the former BetBoom Team slot in Division I. The team was built around former BetBoom players, RodjEr and SoNNeikO. Playing alongside the veterans will be the renowned prodigy, RAMZES666, who had a rough stint with VP last year. re1bI, who last played for HellRaisers, and DkFogas, a former cybercats player round up the roster.

Nemiga

  • Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov
  • Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak
  • Ivan "Vazya" German
  • Kirill "Hellscream" Lagutik
  • Vitaly "so bad" Oshmankevich

Nemiga, a Belarusian team, heads into the new season strong as they just bagged a 3rd place finish in the recent BetBoom Xmas Show. Most of its players are relatively young and inexperienced except for 'so bad' who has played under notable organizations like Vega Squadron and Team Spirit.

HellRaisers

  • Nikita "Daxak" Kuzmin
  • Gleb "depressed kid" Zyryanov
  • Matvey "MieRo`" Vasyunin
  • Vladislav "Antares" Kertman
  • Alexey "Solo" Berezin

HellRaisers fields a convincing roster, headlined by former BetBoom carry, Daxak, and renowned captain, Solo. Joining alongside them will be Antares, a former Team Empire player and two former CIS Rejects players, depressed kid and MieRo`.

BetBoom Team

  • Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko
  • Danil "gpk" Skutin
  • Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko
  • Vitalie "Save-" Melnic
  • Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek

BetBoom Team's new roster, featuring an all-star lineup, is oozing finesse and it is driving massive attention to the EEU region. Alongside the powerful cores who are arguably the best in the region, Save-, a captain of great renown returns after a one-year hiatus to join the team. The cherry on top comes when TI winner, TORONTOTOKYO, switches roles to captain the BetBoom ship in this exciting season. BetBoom Team had released its slot to Darkside and acquired the slot of Mind Games in EEU DPC Division I.

One Move

  • Nikita "Munkushi~" Chepurnykh
  • Aleksey "Ainkrad" Diveevskiy
  • Vasilii "AfterLife" Shishkin
  • Geogrii "Gilgir" Svistunov
  • Nikita "pantomem" Balaganin

One Move is a team of potential, though it hovers around the bottom of Division I throughout seasons. Coming into the new year, One Move retains two of its former players, pantomem and AfterLife. Three new faces join the team including former players from Mind Games, CIS Rejects, and HellRaisers.
