Despite everything we thought we knew, the next major Dota 2 patch, 7.33, will arrive in April.
Dota 2’s next big patch, 7.33 is set to arrive in late April. This is according to a news post by developer Valve made on the official Dota 2 website.
In the post, the developer stated that 7.33 is coming in April, but stops short of apologizing. “The Dead Reckoning Update has a lot of features we’re really proud of — a new hero, item sets, a mini-game. But we get it. Many of you were hoping for Patch 7.33.”

Dota 2 Patch 7.33 will be “ambitious”
Describing the next major patch as “ambitious,” Valve detailed the fact they’d been working on it “for a while.” While they were hoping to get it done in time for this update, they just fell short. They’re now aiming for a late April release.
Given that Valve has released surprise updates to CS:GO, Team Fortress, and are apparently weeks away from releasing Counter Strike 2, we can perhaps forgive the developer for not having quite everything ready to go just yet. Honestly, given that this is reportedly the first patch IceFrog is back working on, let's give the frosty toad a bit of slack — He probably forgot his login or something.
Still, Valve is right, were hoping for Patch 7.33, and just nerfing Lina and making aura items weaker isn’t going to sate the ravenous hunger of Dota players for long. We can only hope “late April” doesn’t turn into early May. And at that point there’s a danger we’re looking at “after the Berlin Major.” It’s a slippery slope!
