Valve finally released details regarding the next Dota 2 update called “Crownfall”.

Since releasing the Frostivus event in December 2023, Valve has been pretty quiet about updates. But the Dota 2 publisher finally made it known that a big update is coming, and it will be called Crownfall. This will likely host a new patch, a new event, and tons of new cosmetics!

Valve teases "Crownfall" for the next Dota 2 update

In the latest Dota 2 news entry, Valve revealed that the team is currently "hard at work on an upcoming update" called "Crownfall". Despite the reveal, Valve was very reserved of its details as the post revealed no more than the event name.

So what can we expect from this Crownfall update? Following the death of the Battle Pass in 2023, Valve had promised more in-game updates, events, and cosmetics for Dota 2 players. It has taken quite a bit of time for this to bloom into action but Valve's latest event, the Frostivus 2023 had a lot of great reception. Especially their brutal action against smurfs and toxic players.

A new Dota 2 hero called the Ringmaster is also on the way. Valve revealed this hero during The International 2023 (TI12) and teased its arrival in "early 2023". This means the Crownfall update will likely welcome the Ringmaster. On top of that, the Valentine's season is coming and that aligns with the previous leaks of a Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage arcana - the notorious lovers.

When will Valve release the Crownfall update?

As we have mentioned above, there is no other detail about Crownfall's release other than the event name itself. But we can anticipate this next Dota 2 update to drop in the nearest future.

There is currently an ongoing tier 1 tournament, BetBoom Dacha Dubai. The Crownfall update will likely drop after the tournament ends.

And that's all the information we have regarding Crownfall. While waiting for the update, let's unpack the latest Dragon's Hoard treasure in celebration of the Lunar New Year! Check out all the sets below.
