There’s a lot to unpack in the 7.31 update.

Valve has just released the 7.31 gameplay update to Dota 2. The update comes days after the conclusion of the Dota 2 Regional Finals. The new patch brings a new hero, neutrals and several other changes. The ever-unpopular Techies hero has also been reworked in the latest patch. Here’s everything that’s new in the Dota 2 7.31 patch.

New Hero: Primal Beast

7.31 has introduced a new hero, Primal Beast. With it’s demonic form and loud roar, this Primal Beast is sure to make heads turn in Dota 2 matches.

Primal Beast is a melee disabler hero that can initiate teamfights and is equipped to deal large swathes of damage. Check out the full breakdown of Dota 2's newest hero.

Techies Changes

There are significant changes to Techies, something that Valve had already teased a few days before. The changes see complete reworks of its abilities. The hero can now be slightly more active and be useful in teamfights. Read the full 7.31 Techies changes.

Dota 2 7.31: Neutral Creep Updates

The latest update brings significant changes to neutral creeps and has also introduced three new neutral creeps. In addition to the new neutral creeps, they get stronger with time and are slightly more resilient than attack speed slow.

Ancient Ice Shaman

The Ancient Ice Shaman can throw a bomb to an enemy unit or building dealing 50 damage per second for 8 seconds.

Ancient Frostbitten Golem

The Ancient Frostbitten Golem is a melee neutral creep with 900 HP and 7 armor.

Time Warp Aura. Grants 10% Cooldown Reduction in a 1200 radius

Warpine Raider

The Warpine Raiders might look cute, but they are not very easy to take down at level 1. With 850 HP and 6 armor (also 30% magic resistance), this duo gives 50-52 gold and 76 XP bounty.

The Warpine Raider also has an ability wherein it can throw a seed to a unit slowing for 100% for 1s and dealing 100 damage. Can bounce to nearby enemies up to 4 hits (3 bounces).

New Bounty Rune locations

There are four bounty runes in the game at the 0:00 minute mark now. Two runes spawn in the river as they did in 7.30. But two other runes also spawn near the outposts.

The Water runes still spawn at the 2:00 and 4:00 minute mark.

Three New Items

There are three new items in the latest update.

Revenant’s Brooch

Rumors of the Revenant's Brooch have persisted for centuries, and in some cultures the legends of its cursed owner are celebrated still — though few believe such mythical origin stories are actually true.

An upgrade to the Witch blade, the Revenant’s Brooch is an excellent item for intelligent damage dealing heroes. It requires an expensive upgrade with the Mystic Staff but also provides true strike and can ethereal units.

Wraith Pact

It is said the consciousness trapped within the Wraith Pact can turn even the noblest mind onto a path of darkness, but many brave heroes are willing to pay the price.

Passive: Vladmir's Aura. Grants 15% Lifesteal, 18% Bonus Damage, 1.75 mana regeneration and 3 armor to allies in a 1200 AoE

Boots of Bearing

The resplendent Boots of Bearing can be traced to the very foundations of Stonehall's imperial legacy, fit perfectly to carry the Emperor's message of unity into far-flung lands.

Requires Tranquil Boots, Drum of Endurance, 1500g recipe (total Cost 4125)

8 charges. Gains a charge every 3 minutes
