Crownfall Act IV and the new Dota 2 hero Kez is on the horizon!

Roster shuffle this, roster shuffle that. What about Crownfall Act IV? While the professional scene is busy with chaotic post-TI roster shuffles, Valve is brewing the final chapter of Crownfall. But when will it be released? Read ahead!

Crownfall Act IV release date

It took some time, but Valve finally revealed the release date for Crownfall Act IV to be Nov. 7, 2024. A day earlier, a comic titled "Ascension Night" was unveiled. Packed with plenty of lore about Kez's arrival (as well as a few jokes from Valve about the patience of the Dota player base), a blog post indicated Nov. 7 would see the release of The Spires of Skywrath.

"Very soon, a flightless named Kestrel will return from his Icewrack exile. He will reform a Kazurai army from the ashes of the old. He will join his new friends, a band of Oglodi warriors, and the rightful queen to storm the palace of the usurper Imperia. And he will change the history of Skywrath forever. This is not that story. Not yet. (That's for tomorrow)."

Early data mining had many believe Crownfall Act IV was scheduled for Sep. 24, but it was worth noting that Valve has a history of event delays.

Valve extended Crownfall's end date to October at the conclusion of The International, but once it was seen that Crownfall Act IV would not arrive on time, the event's end date was removed altogether. Now that we have an idea of when Crownfall Act IV will arrive, it's unclear when Valve will decide to end the event as a whole ā€” expect at least a couple of months.

Crownfall Act IV will also welcome new hero Kez

On top of new storylines and rewards, players are also looking forward to the arrival of Kez. Kez is the upcoming Dota 2 hero that Valve announced during the pinnacle of TI13. It is teased for launch alongside Crownfall's fourth chapter which has heightened expectations from the community.

After Ringmaster's staggering delay, which saw almost an entire season of pushback and no communication from Valve, fans are prone to doubt if Kez will arrive on time. But as usual, the community remains hopeful.
