Army Geniuses, an Indonesian-based Dota 2 team, is promoted to Division I for the first time after going undefeated in SEA DPC Division II.
Another Indonesian team is rising to the occasion in Southeast Asian Dota. Army Geniuses obliterated the competition in SEA Dota Pro Circuit (SEA DPC) Division II and went undefeated throughout the season. After winning their series against Polaris Esports, they have gained passage to Division I for the very first time.
Who are Army Geniuses in Dota?
Army Geniuses is an Indonesian-based Dota 2 team founded in 2020. The current roster features mostly Indonesian players with the exception of one Filipino player and Canadian/South-Korean coach:
- Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky
- Yuri "Yowe" Pacaña
- Daud "db-" Budiawan
- Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro
- Rizki "Varizh" Varizh
- Aaron "Clairvoyance" Kim (Coach)
This iteration of roster has seen a number of noteworthy accomplishments. Their most recent successes include placing third in both the BTS Pro Series Season 13: Southeast Asia and M. Invitational 2023. Even though they did not take first place in either tournament, they were able to beat strong contenders such as Fnatic and Talon Esports. On top of that, they have now gone undefeated throughout SEA DPC Division II thus far, dropping just two out of 14 games. Army Geniuses only have one series left in the season and will be facing Team Flow on Feb. 12.
