Can Hooxi and jks help G2 get the elusive #1 rank?
G2 esports has reportedly signed Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen on a permanent basis to its CS: GO roster. The former Copenhagen Flames player will now lead a different set of players as he aims to help G2 become the world’s best CS: GO team.
The past few weeks have seen intense speculation surrounding the G2 CS: GO roster. There were reports of multiple players joining the squad, but it seems the org has now settled on HooXi. Originally reported by Dexerto’s Luis Mira and the permanent signing report by neLendirect, it all but confirms Hooxi’s new CS: GO home.
Life away from Copenhagen Flames for G2 HooXi
HooXi has been an integral part of Copenhagen Flames and has led the team to continued success over the past year. The player who had nothing but praise for his previous organization will now get to compete at the highest levels of Counter-Strike with even better resources.
Under his captaincy, Copenhagen Flames won the PGL Antwerp Major EU RMR B and multiple smaller tournaments as well. The team would repeatedly challenge the best CS: GO teams and often cause quite a few notable upsets. They finished 5-8th at PGL Antwerp Major, a follow-up to their 9-11th place finish at PGL Stockholm Major.
Despite the strong showing at multiple tournaments, Copenhagen Flames could not find a buyer for the core roster. The team broke apart and the players are now playing in different teams. There have also been reports of the previous team owner Daniel “Vorborg” Vorborg, joining Evil Geniuses.
