The event has a double-elimination format in the group stage. The playoffs also employ a similar format that rewards consistency. So experience and skill will be crucial throughout this tournament. Here are our top three picks for the cs_summit 8 NA RMR event.

Team Liquid is already a favorite to win cs_summit 8. It will be a tough competition with FURIA esports, but the two teams are the strongest in the region. They are also the only two in the top ten of the HLTV rankings.

Despite being a top ten team, Team Liquid has not found much success in recent months. With a 9-16th place finish at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and a similar 9-12th place finish at ESL Pro League, the team needed a change. The change came in the form of the coaching staff. Team Liquid parted ways with Jason "moses" O'Toole, bringing back Eric "adreN" Hoag as the team’s coach.

How does this change affect the team’s chances at cs_summit 8? AdreN has been with Team Liquid for a long time and was instrumental in the team’s rise through 2019. But with short notice, Team Liquid might still be trying to figure out its playstyle and strategy. Regardless, Stewie2k and co. are still the favorites to reach the grand finals.

FURIA esports

With Team Liquid’s coaching staff change, FURIA esports could just march ahead in this competition. FURIA has been extremely active in the past few months and has also placed higher in international events compared to Team Liquid.

Despite being the in-game leader, Andrei "arT" Piovezan  is also the one taking the risks on FURIA. He is the entry-fragger for the team and is a very successful one at that. Inferno, Train and Vertigo are FURIA’s strengths. This is also the last time Train will be played in CS:GO tournaments, so FURIA’s players will give it their all and try to secure maximum RMR points.

Evil Geniuses

Evil Geniuses is a distant third in North American Counter-Strike. But it would be foolhardy to dismiss the team as one without a chance. The team benched Tarik "tarik" Celik and signed Michał "MICHU" Müller on April 15 in a bid to correct its string of poor performances. Michu is a veteran Counter-Strike player in the Polish scene and has a very high skill ceiling. The recent roster change could spark the start of something new in Evil geniuses. After all, the team does not lack firepower. With the likes of Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and the guidance of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, this team has a balanced combination of skill and strategic depth.
