Astralis as an organization has not won trophies for quite a while, and for the current roster reaching the top at PGL Bucharest 2026 would be a great breakthrough. For the young players of FUT Esports, this tournament win would be a wonderful achievement at the start of their careers.
The grand final of the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament PGL Bucharest 2026 is a clash between the teams Astralis and FUT Esports. Both have had decent tournament runs, defeating strong opponents on the way.
The win of FUT would break the ice of the top competitive scene, bringing fresh names to a somewhat settled landscape. Astralis certainly need to break the ice around their organization’s reputation — from shaky performance back to tournament wins.
FUT Esports versus Astralis: The grand final at CS2 PGL Bucharest 2026
This roster of FUT Esports comes from NAVI Junior. The players have been representing FUT since August 2025, but they have become really notable top-level contenders in the 2026 season. FUT Esports reached the top 4 at ESL Pro League Season 23, and they are ready to step further.
Astralis refreshed the roster at the start of 2026. After some shaky events, we could see steady progress from these players. Astralis actually defeated FUT Esports in the EPL S23 third-place final. Still, esports betting platforms do not highlight Astralis as huge favorites. The PGL Bucharest 2026 is anyone’s game!

FUT Esports, the most amazing young team of CS2 esports
At the first tournament of 2026, BLAST Winter 2026, we were surprised by the great play by PARIVISION. Now, the biggest breakthrough achievement easily goes to FUT Esports — the young players have progressed immensely in just a few tournaments. Not only have they reached the PGL Bucharest 2026 grand final, but FUT also defeated PARIVISION in the Swiss Stage.
The team’s achievements are not limited to this. In the semifinal, FUT won over The MongolZ, one of the generally top teams in CS2 esports.

Astralis, forging new legacy
The organization’s name is strongly connected to the legendary roster, and in a way, Astralis is stuck in that period. We need to see the new players claiming their wins and forging their own legacy in Counter-Strike esports.
At PGL Bucharest 2026, Astralis defeated The MongolZ in the Swiss Stage. They did not have very notable opponents in the playoffs, but defeating brave underdogs from EYEBALLERS and 3DMAX also feels nice.

FaZe Clan became the biggest disappointment of PGL Bucharest 2026
While looking back at the entire tournament, it’s hard not to note the disappointing moves from FaZe Clan. They are not only about poor performance.

- FaZe skipped two opening rounds of the Swiss Stage. They battled for the IEM Cologne Major qualification at another tournament — and did not earn it.
- To start a bold series of three elimination matches, FaZe just lost to EYEBALLERS and were out of the event.

The MongolZ and PARIVISION to keep the pace with the evolving CS2 esports scene
These two teams were considered the biggest favorites at the start of PGL Bucharest 2026. The MongolZ have been enjoying this status for ages. PARIVISION have earned it thanks to really good tournament runs in 2026.
- The MongolZ lost to Astralis in the Swiss Stage, which can be a sign of Astralis’ progress.
- They defeated PARIVISION in a very close match, but then, The MongolZ lost to FUT Esports.

PARIVISION barely qualified for the playoffs in Bucharest, which looked like a continuation of their rollercoaster performance.
- Losing to FUT and 3DMAX can’t feel good for a team with such ambitions.
- PARIVISION stumbled in the quarterfinal against The MongolZ, and this result is not reassuring ahead of tournaments with Vitality, NAVI, and other top teams.

3DMAX, EYEBALLERS, B8, and MIBR played well at PGL Bucharest 2026, which is a good sign for healthy Counter-Strike competition. We are looking forward to seeing them at other, probably somewhat bigger tournaments.

With a very short break, CS2 esports returns with a banger of an event. IEM Rio 2026 happens from April 13 to April 19.
