Hold a piece of CS2 history in your inventory thanks to the new Souvenir Highlight Packages, available after the Austin Major playoffs.

Souvenir weapons earned via the CS2 Major Viewer Pass are getting an upgrade for the BLAST Austin Major with select weapons now getting a "Souvenir Highlight Package" — including a sweet weapon charm!

Relive the best moments from the Austin Major playoffs by using your Viewer Pass souvenir tokens to get a random skin from the map's collection, as well as a cool commemorative charm attached. However, you'll need to wait to claim them!

Souvenir weapon charms arrive for Austin Major playoffs — but they won't be available straight away

CS2 developers Valve revealed the new souvenir charms as part of the Souvenir Highlight Packages on May 29. Those who buy the Viewer Pass will be able to redeem their souvenir weapons via their earned (or bought) tokens as usual, but those redeemed for playoff matches will be upgraded to the Souvenir Highlight Packages.

These packages don't differ too much other than the Austin Major weapon charm that comes attached to the souvenir weapon you get. With this charm is a random highlight from the selected playoff match, featuring the player, the highlight, and the team they played against.

The weapon charm for the Austin Major is in the form of a pair of dogtags imprinted with the Austin Major logo. In all, it's a nice way of commemorating a sick play from the pinnacle rounds of the top CS2 event.

It's sure to attract interest from players, too; who wouldn't want a m0NESY one-versus-five AWP clutch grand final souvenir weapon and highlight package?

The charms were first discovered by dataminers shortly after the Austin Major update arrived last week. Files with mentions of a "Highlight Keychain" were spotted, prompting theories about what Valve was cooking up for Austin.

It's important to note tokens redeemed during the playoffs will not include the highlight packages. For those hoping to collect the souvenir highlight packages, hold off on redeeming the tokens until Valve implements them fully.

Today's blog post said Valve was hoping the packages would be redeemable "shortly after the Major comes to a close," so we won't have long to wait.
