IEM Dallas kicks off later this month
Jake "Stewie2K" Yip joins G2 Esports’ lineup as a stand-in ahead of IEM Dallas 2024. The player will replace Hooxi who will not be present at the event as he is attending his sister’s wedding.
Stewie2k to stand in for G2 esports
Earlier this week, G2 esports revealed that Hooxi will miss out on IEM Dallas due to a personal commitment. He will be attending his sister’s wedding and take a few days off of Counter-Strike. Stewie2k is a surprise G2 esports announcement as the player has been virtually absent from the scene. He represented Evil Geniuses back in 2022 and he continued as a streamer after being out of the active roster.
More recently, he competed with Legacy in Counter-Strike 2. The team attempted to qualify for the Esports World Cup 2024: North American Qualifier. However, they finished 3rd after a loss to M80. M80 eventually went on to win the NA Qualifier and qualify for the Esports World Cup.
