PGL said on June 20 that the NVIDIA bug that caused an important CS2 crash during the Copenhagen Major has been fixed.

PGL announced on June 20 that it fixed the issue responsible for crashing Dzhami "Jame" Ali's PC in a crucial round of Virtus.pro vs G2 during the Copenhagen CS2 Major

During the PGL Copenhagen Major in March, Jame's CS2 crashed in a post-plant and pretty much helped G2 to win the round and consequently the entire map afterwards. To make matters worse, G2's star Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov revealed in an interview with HLTV that G2 had already called for the save that round, but after getting a free kill onto Jame, they decided to attempt the retake.

On the same day the crash happened, PGL explained Jame's CS2 crashed because the NVIDIA driver had crashed after a technical malfunction, and said it would work with NVIDIA to fix the issue. It took nearly three months for PGL, NVIDIA, and Valve to fix the issue that hurt Virtus.pro's chances of making playoffs at the Major.

"Following the crash at the PGL CS2 Major in Copenhagen, we have worked closely with NVIDIA and Valve to address the issue," PGL said via an X post on June 20. "We are pleased to confirm that the problem has been resolved. We remain committed to providing the best tournament gaming experience with GeForce RTX GPUs."

Although PGL got a lot of flack during the Major, Astralis' star Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz also randomly crashed during an important round of the IEM Chengdu semifinals in April.

Should what PGL is saying be true, it will likely prevent situations like the ones we've seen in PGL Copenhagen Major and IEM Chengdu from repeating throughout the second semester of competitive CS2. And is a good step toward turning CS2 into a well-optimized game, in general.
