G2’s up next.
The NAVI vs. Eternal Fire matchup showcased a CS2 masterclass from one player in particular, Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov. As a result, Natus Vincere has secured their spot in the Semi-Finals at the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024.
On Eternal Fire’s side, one player was near-silent when he was needed most, Ismailcan 'XANTARES' Dörtkardeş.
NAVI vs. Eternal Fire Result
- NAVI wins map one: Mirage (16-13)
- NAVI wins map two: Inferno (13-4)
NAVI’s win against Eternal Fire at the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 was likely due to a variety of circumstances. While w0nderful showed that he was one of the strongest AWPers we have in CS2, the pressure of the Playoffs was likely too much for some.
The big stage pressure might’ve been too much for Eternal Fire. However, they showed that they had the firepower to return to the big stage again one day.

Mirage and Inferno
NAVI vs. Eternal Fire’s first encounter on Mirage was a nail-biter. An incredibly solid performance from the NAVI squad set Eternal Fire up for failure after dominating on their T side. Eternal Fire had one three strikes until NAVI made it to match-point—but it didn’t stop Eternal Fire from clawing their way back. This resulted in a one-sided overtime performance from the NAVI side.
Mirage is where w0nderful began his stellar series, and it wasn’t where it ended. The young gun AWPer carried NAVI through that first map, ending with 27 kills. All while his teammates failed to crack close to 20.
Inferno is where Eternal Fire’s stars XANTARES Ali 'Wicadia' Haydar Yalçın went missing. The Turkish squad was likely gassed after losing an incredible comeback. This left easy pickings for w0nderful.
Buğra 'Calyx' Arkın and ngin 'MAJ3R' Küpeli’s solid efforts weren’t enough to make up for their other player's poor performances. However, this likely isn’t the end for the Eternal Fire squad. If anything, they’ve shown they can take on top teams and be a dark horse for future events.
