Team Liquid beats Spirit in BLAST Premier Spring Groups debut

Liquid, however, did not have an easy task to beat Spirit without donk.

Team Liquid beat Team Spirit in their first game at BLAST Premier Spring Groups. This is the first major event for the new Team Liquid, after playing RMR and other qualifiers in North America.

Team Spirit arrived at BLAST Premier Spring Groups without top stars Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets and Boris 'magixx' Vorobiev. The players failed to make the trip due to visa issues. Taking their places were Oleg 'baz' Kulynych from the Academy and Sergey 'hally' Shavaev, the team's coach.

Team Liquid vs Team Spirit (Nuke, Anubis and Ancient)

Nuke

Team Spirit started on the T-side of the map and bet on several block explosions. Team Liquid, being a new team, showed a lack of synergy to defend against these block attacks from Spirit, especially at bombsite A.

With this, Spirit reached 5-4. Liquid, however, adapted to the strategy of their opponents. Team Liquid made it difficult for Spirit to build a good economy, failing to score any more points in the first half.

The CT-side pistol was beaten by Spirit, as they managed to defend the forced rounds and the first buy round. Liquid then took advantage of the good individualities they have and won a force.

Team Liquid showed more effectiveness in their worked plays on the T-side than the rushes themselves.

Already in overtime, Dmitry 'sh1ro' Sokolov made a surreal clutch that puts the team back in the game.

At 15-14 in favor of Liquid and one round away from closing the map, Mareks 'YEKINDAR' Gaļinskis makes an advance on CT's door that changes Spirit's entire tactical idea for this round. This way, Liquid manages to close the map 16-14.

Anubis

On the second map of Anubis, Spirit did very well on the T-side. The team varied their plays on the map a lot, starting with a focus on A and then several defaults. Team Liquid was unbeaten on the map in 2024 with five maps played, but the team failed a lot here.

Felipe 'skullz' Medeiros was one who tried most to reverse the result on the Ct-side, with an almost clutch that would remain in his memory.

Liquid got closer to the result, but Spirit's Myroslav 'zont1x' Plakhotia closed the map excellently with an ace.

Liquid finishes the series against Spirit on Ancient

In Ancient, both teams dominated on the CT-side. First, Team Spirit opened a 9-3 lead with very effective forward dynamics in Mid and B.

Dmitry 'sh1ro' Sokolov and Leonid 'chopper' Vishnyakov were very effective on the map with crucial kills. The AWPer with a clutch allowed Spirit to continue its dominance on the CT-side.

Also on the CT-side, Liquid returned to the map and closed 13-11.

Skullz made an important clutch against the Spirit force that could have changed the course of the game if lost.
