The first map started with a relatively even first half between the two teams. Some impressive multi-frags by G2's nexa allowed G2 to take a slight early game lead. G2's constant information-gathering allowed them to have a rough idea of the opponent's movements across the map. There were multiple times when G2 players would set up cross-angles alloing them to get the frags.

IEM Chengdu has a prize pool of $250,000 and features some of the best teams in action. The tournament runs for seven days starting on the 8th. With the best teams in attendance, this event promises to bring top tier Counter-Strike action for fans. At stake is an invite for IEM Cologne later this year for the tournament winner. There are also EPT points in contention for the top placements, which will be quite useful in future ESL Pro Tour events.
