FlyQuest have signed for the former Grayhound roster unveiling the org’s entry into Counter-Strike. The announcement comes just days before the roster will make its debut under the new org during IEM Chengdu 2024.
FlyQuest sign ex-Grayhound roster
North American esports organization FlyQuest has announced its entry into Counter-Strike with this signing. The former Grayhound squad failed to qualify for the PGL Copenhagen Major after suffering a few unfortunate losses in the Asia RMR.
Counter-Strike is a forever true Tier 1 esports. So it’s a massive day for FlyQuest to be able to expand further in this title.
An Australian himself, Papasmithy finds some correlation with the challenges faced by Aussie players.
Growing up in Western Australia, where I made my first foray into competitive gaming as the Legends player back in 2012, when I finally reached what I thought was my peak, my first professional team, when they found out I was from Perth, they did the only responsible thing they could do as an Aussie esports org. They messaged my Team Captain and told him to kick me because the flights to the east were too damn high. I’m aware of the unique challenges that Australian esports faces.
Due to its geographical location, Australian players often face challenges in signing up with an org. Despite these challenges, we have seen several teams from Down Under put up stellar performances over the past few years.

FlyQuest’s first match will be against Cloud9 in the upcoming IEM Chengdu 2024. The tournament takes place in the first half of April and features 16 teams in competition. With a prize pool of $250,000 and some of the best teams in attendance, IEM Chengdu will bring Tier 1 Counter-Strike to Chinese fans.
