IEM Sydney is the first Tier 1 ESL event that features Counter-Strike 2. The tournament, taking place down under in Sydney, will feature sixteen teams including the Local Hero invite for Grayhound Gaming. The tournament has a $250,000 prize pool and takes place over a week from October 16 to 22, 2023.

With not even a month past CS2’s official release, IEM Sydney might see several instances that compromise integrity and fair play in the tournament. Several players and teams feel the game is not esports-ready, and this is ESL’s way of ensuring fair play and integrity.
