In the build up for their football rivalry game on Saturday, November 30, Ohio State and Michigan brought their intense matchup online in the Progressive Rivalry Series.

In a rematch of 2022’s inaugural Rivalry Series, the rival schools faced off in EA’s College Football 25.

Ohio State vs Michigan Results

In 2022’s Rivalry Series rendition of Ohio State vs Michigan, Michigan took home the title. This year, Ohio State was clearly set on revenge as they won by a final score of 7 to 2. The full game results are as follows:

Each school also had a student representative from their esports teams face off in a showcase match. Charlie from Ohio State helped OSU maintain its dominance by defeating Brian from Michigan, 37-27, to close out the night.

Rivalry Series Highlights

Ohio State vs Michigan was full of close matchups. 6 of the 8 athlete matchups ended with the teams separated by a single possession. One highlight for Ohio State came from Tedd Ginn Jr., who was known for being an explosive kick returner in his college and NFL career, when he took his return skills to the game and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Braxton Miller clinched the title of Progressive Rivalry Series champions for Ohio State when he defeated Denard Robinson by a single point, 7 to 6. In the matchup of former Big Ten Player of the Year award winners, both sides displayed great defense with Miller pulling out a narrow victory following a missed extra point by Robinson.

The closest match of the series came when Ohio State’s Tyleik Williams defeated Michigan’s Leon Franklin in overtime, 24 to 21. After Williams started overtime with a field goal, he held Franklin out of the endzone and forced a field goal attempt. Franklin missed the overtime field goal to give Williams and Ohio State the victory.
