“This tournament is shaping up to be a major moment for African esports.”

For the first time ever, players can qualify for the official Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship through the Carry1st Africa Cup. This is because Activision has recognized the Carry1st Africa Cup as a qualifying tournament. Therefore, through Carry1st Africa Cup 2025, players now have the chance to represent their country on the international stage.

Carry1st Africa Cup x Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2025

Carry1st Africa Cup 2025 marks the second edition of the tournament as it expands from five to seven African regions after a strong debut last year that saw Noxious NxGen take home the gold. According to an official announcement, this year's circuit shows Carry1st's continued commitment to Africa's esports scene.

"We are excited to announce the return of Call of Duty: Mobile as part of our Carry1st Africa Cup this year,” Guillaume Noé, the vice president of growth at Carry1st, said. "Last year was incredible and showed us what this continent's talent can do when given the right platform."

He continued, noting how Carry1st Africa Cup 2025 is raising the stakes with more regions and players involved. Since it's now recognized by Activision as a qualifier, players aren't just competing for regional pride, but also a chance at duking it out against the world's very best.

Jeffrey Gullett, the co-head of Call of Duty: Mobile at Activision, shared his thoughts about the tournament as well. He said that Activision is thrilled about the collaboration.

"This tournament is shaping up to be a major moment for African esports, creating real opportunities for the best Call of Duty: Mobile players regionally to break through and compete globally," Gullett added.
