Toronto Ultra and Monster Energy bring you Hot Drop, a new Call of Duty: Warzone tournament with some of the game’s finest.

Toronto Ultra are teaming up with Monster Energy to bring Call of Duty: Warzone fans a brand new tournament as teams lead into The Call of Duty: World Series Warzone Global Finals in Las Vegas September 14-15.  

The Toronto Ultra Hot Drop event, presented by Monster Energy is a trios tournament with a whopping $25K USD on the line. This match point format tournament with over 30 of your favorite Warzone teams will take place on September 9 at 2 p.m. PT and streamed live.

Toronto Ultra Hot Drop tournament breakdown

The Call of Duty: Warzone event will see a number of invited World Series of Warzone teams competing and a few extra invitees to round out the field. Some of the invited teams include reigning Esports World Cup Warzone Champions Biffle, Soka and Shifty, and popular content creators including FaZe Swagg, HusKerrs, JoeWo, FifaKill, and Aydan.

The lobbies will have the trios drop into Urzikstan, where teams will earn points for eliminations and placements. After a minimum of six drops, the first team to reach or pass 125 points and then win a Warzone match takes first place.

As a Call of Duty League and Toronto Ultra sponsor, Monster Energy’s commitment to fueling the gaming community shines through the delivery of this new, and epic tournament.

Teams have a chance to snag a piece of this large prize pool (evenly distributed among teammates) and broken down as follows: 

  • 1st: $10,000
  • 2nd: $6,000
  • 3rd: $4,000
  • 4th: $3,000
  • 5th: $2,000

Point system and scoring

The breakdown of how scoring will work during the Toronto Ultra Hot Drop event will use the World Series of Warzone Urzikstan Custom Trios settings. One point is awarded per elimination and is increased with a placement multiplier.

The multipliers are as follows:

  • 1st: 2x Multiplier
  • 2nd-5th: 1.8x
  • 6th-10th: 1.6x
  • 11th-20th: 1.4x
  • 21st-30th: 1.2x
  • 31st+: 1.0x

The first team to reach or pass 125 points and then win a Warzone match takes first place. All other placements are determined by total points from every match.
