COD Champs is finally coming to Canada
At the start of Major III in the Call of Duty League, the Toronto Ultra have dropped some long-awaited news about Call of Duty League Champs in 2025. As we've known since the start of the season, Toronto would be the hosting team for the CDL's ultimate and final event in Black Ops 6. However, aside from that, the details were murky.
That changed today when the Toronto Ultra spilled the beans about what fans can expect from the first Champs event outside the United States in Call of Duty history. Below, you can see all of the official details announced by the organization, including the date and venue of the event.

Toronto Ultra to host CDL Champs 2025 in late June
CDL Champs 2025 is set to begin at the tail end of June in 2025, which is a few weeks earlier than it began a year ago in Modern Warfare III. This could have something to do with the date of the Esports World Cup, which happened in August last year, quickly following Champs. Perhaps the CDL wanted some additional time between the two major events so teams could make roster changes if necessary and amateur rosters have more time to practice.
In 2025, CDL Champs is starting on Thursday, June 26 and runs until Sunday, June 29. All of the action is being held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, also known as "The Aud," which is located in Kitchener, Ontario. This is just an hour outside of Toronto and it will be the first time the Ultra hosts an event at this location.
The Aud is considerably larger than the previous locations where the Ultra has hosted CDL events. To compare numbers, the Ultra have hosted at the Mattamy Athletic Centre previously, which holds just under 4,000 people. The Aud in Kitchener has a maximum capacity of over 7,000. According to the organization, however, it expects to welcome over 20,000 fans to the event across the entire weekend in late June.
This CDL Champs marks a major milestone in the league's history. It's the first time Champs has been held outside of the US, which normally sees cities such as Los Angeles host the event. In 2024, OpTic Texas hosted in Arlington and took home the victory, so Toronto is certainly hoping for a similar result with a friendly crowd in attendance.
