The LA Thieves have earned their first LAN victory of the 2025 season at CDL Major 3!
In a weekend filled with twists and turns, Championship Sunday at CDL Major 3 2025 saw the Los Angeles Thieves walk away with the tournament victory. A squad many dubbed a "super team," the Thieves lived up to this moniker all weekend long.
Despite facing adversity in the Winner's Finals, an early exit by Atlanta FaZe made the path to victory that much more attainable. When all was said and done, the Los Angeles Thieves steamrolled the Vancouver Surge in the Grand Finals. Here's how the tournament went down in Boca Raton, Florida.
The LA Thieves' path to the Grand Finals at CDL Major 3 2025
Scrap, Ghosty, HydrA, and Envoy made it look easy on Thursday and Saturday at CDL Major 3. They made quick work of the Carolina Royal Ravens and home team Miami Heretics to secure themselves a spot in the Grand Finals.
Their Winner's Finals series against the Vancouver Surge presented minor adversity. However, the LA Thieves completed a reverse sweep to reach their second LAN Grand Finals of the season.
The Surge sink as the Thieves win their first LAN of the 2025 season
After defeating the Toronto Ultra in the Lower Bracket Finals, the Grand Finals would pit the Thieves against the Surge in a rematch. However, it was ultimately one of the more one-sided affairs we've seen this season.
On the shoulders of an incredible 1.49 K/D by HydrA, the Surge had no answer for the LA Thieves. While the Search & Destroy ended in a narrow 6-5 victory in favor of Los Angeles, the series never felt particularly close.
The LA Thieves added insult to injury following the reverse sweep in the Winner's Finals to win the Grand Finals and CDL Major 3 2025 in a 4-0 fashion.
