Fans are mere days away from the launch of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta. Here’s everything you need to know.
It’s almost time for the yearly reveal of Call of Duty’s latest installment. This time around, Infinity Ward hopes to deliver a better overall product than Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Vanguard, which by all accounts was a below-average title. In any case, that brings us to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. With the Call of Duty: Next event coming this Thursday, we expect to learn more about the Modern Warfare 2 Beta and see gameplay.
Today, we’ll be breaking down everything we know about the Modern Warfare 2 Beta, including the dates and recently revealed rewards. It’s Call of Duty season, so let’s prepare for the road ahead.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta dates & expectations
Infinity Ward has been quite clear regarding the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 Beta. PlayStation players are the priority, considering Sony’s exclusivity rights. As a result, that means those on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 have the first Beta weekend all to themselves.
According to IW, the first Beta dates are from September 16 to September 20. However, it’s worth noting that only those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 can play the “early access” Beta on September 16 and 17. Subsequently, the Open Beta spans from September 18 to September 20 for PlayStation only.
For players on all other platforms, you’ll have to wait until weekend two from September 22 to September 26. Furthermore, the same pre-order rule applies from September 22 to September 23. Then, the Open Beta commences on September 24 and wraps up on September 26.
Here’s a complete breakdown of the Modern Warfare 2 Beta dates:
- PlayStation Early Access: September 16 - September 17
- PlayStation Open Beta: September 18 - September 20
- All Platform Early Access: September 22 - September 23
- All Platform Open Beta: September 24 - September 26
