Stake Engine could be the new home for indie game developers

Stake Engine aims to attract creators to their platform with fast approvals and easy monetization.

Stake Engine, the Remote Gaming Server (RGS) originally built for iGaming, might soon become a surprising new tool for indie developers. While many assumed it would be limited to casino-style titles, the platform is showing potential for broader game development.

The engine handles the full development cycle, which includes coding, publishing, and monetization, on a single platform. Stake claims games can be reviewed and approved within 24 hours, with developers able to receive monthly revenue payouts.

Now that platforms like Kick feature multiple creators trying out iGaming titles to share with their audience, developers are striving for tools to get their games more attractive. Online users have stated that the engine offers a fair Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR%). Thus, the more attractive the game is, the higher the percentage of bets the creator should earn.

Still, there are concerns. Some X users argue that the platform has lingering security issues and needs better moderation to prevent low-value titles from flooding the system. Others suggested a bug bounty system to reward developers for reporting vulnerabilities. The Stake Engine team has acknowledged these criticisms and promised updates.

How indie developers can benefit from Stake Engine

Stake Engine’s team has been active on social media, answering questions and posting tips for new users. A recent video explained how thumbnails can be optimized to make games stand out. Future updates will reportedly include save features, enabling developers to focus on story-driven design rather than quick-play mechanics.

“We see a future where indie storytelling meets iGaming mechanics, creating entirely new categories of games,” Stake Engine engineer Hayden Bruin said.

Developers can also gain access to powerful in-engine testing tools such as:

  • Instant Toggling: Previewing how a game runs across different currencies, languages, and devices.
  • Wallet Balance Simulation: Testing transaction scenarios throughout the player journey.
  • Build Switching: Easily moving between local development versions and live updates.

If Stake can address concerns around security and content quality, its RGS platform could become an unexpected home for indie developers.
