Light & Wonder snags a vendor license in the UAE.
Earlier this year, Softswiss reported via its iGaming trends of 2025 that The Game LLC had posted job listings for online casino and sports betting operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was a prominent step towards legalizing online casinos in the country. Now, the Las Vegas-based gaming company, Light & Wonder, has confirmed it has obtained a vendor license in the UAE for land-based and iGaming operations.
A lot has been happening behind the scenes in the UAE to build the first-ever legal online casino. Ever since the country’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) granted an exclusive national lottery license to The Game LLC in July 2024, the UAE government has been slowly but steadily taking initiatives to establish a regulated digital gaming market.

Light & Wonder is all set to supply games to licensed betting operators in the UAE
As reported by gamblinginsder, the vendor license will allow Light & Wonder to supply its arsenal of casino games, both offline and online, to licensed operators in the UAE. This includes gaming machines, table games, and essential utilities.
As mentioned above, this is another notable step towards establishing the UAE’s first online casino. “Securing a license from the GCGRA is an important milestone for Light & Wonder as we enter one of the most anticipated new regulated markets in the world,” said Light & Wonder president and CEO Matt Wilson, on this latest development.
He further added, “We’re honored to be among the first approved suppliers and are committed to bringing our trusted, responsible and player-first approach to the UAE.”
This isn’t Light & Wonder’s first global expansion. In addition to the UAE, the company has also been supplying its portfolio of games to licensed operators across Europe and North America.
In other news, the company recently collaborated with BetMGM to release the Wizard of OZ - Follow the Yellow Brick Road licensed game in the North American states of New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ontario.
