New Zealand-based developer Ninja Kiwi is teaming up with data provider GRID for their tower defense title Legions TD 2.

GRID, a game data platform, is teaming up with New Zealand-based video game developer Ninja Kiwi. The first title on the slate is Legion TD 2, and GRID's involvement is sure to make for a more informed player experience.

GRID and Legion TD 2

Legion TD 2 is a tower defense title — one of many under Ninja Kiwi. The developer is most known for another tower defense series of games, Bloons TD. They acquired the developers of Legion TD 2, AutoAttack Games, in April of last year.

This partnership between GRID and Legion TD 2 is part of GRID Play, the data company's initiative to provide support to smaller titles. Many data-driven features are expected to hit Legion TD 2 in the coming updates thanks to this partnership. This includes a leaderboard and expanded stats.

Ninja Kiwi will gain access to a developer portal that has data and analytics tools, including player behavior and game engagement so they can make more informed decisions.

"GRID Play was designed to let developers focus on making great games, not managing complex data. The AutoAttack Games team at Ninja Kiwi has developed a game with a passionate player base and strong community-driven ecosystem behind it—qualities where reliable data infrastructure and insightful player stats can add meaningful value," said GRID CTO and Co-Founder Chris King.

"GRID’s tools give us a ton of valuable data on thousands of matches played every day, which collectively unlocks deeper gameplay insights for both our players and our team," said AutoAttack Games CEO and Founder Brent Batas. "As we share GRID data with our playerbase, we can better showcase the unparalleled gameplay depth of Legion TD 2, and the same data will also help guide our business and development decisions moving forward."

Legion TD 2 betting soon?

Working with Legion TD 2 also marks GRID's expansion past premier esports titles. In recent years, GRID has strengthened its portfolio by working with top organizers and games in the scene. In late 2023, they became the official esports data partner for Riot Games, particularly for VALORANT and LoL Esports. Just last month, they signed a deal with ESL FACEIT Group to be their exclusive data partner for events such as IEM and ESL Pro League. All of the involved titles have a very robust betting scene, thanks to GRID's integrity and data systems.

Legion TD 2 has a thriving competitive scene, so it won't be too far off for them to also introduce betting lines now that they have GRID on their side.
