Team Falcons did what Team Falcons do best, win.
Team Falcons closed out an incredible ALGS split with a five game Regional Finals win. The 'super team' has dominated all season long, and also finishes first in the overall standings. Their regular season was so strong that the title was already secured before todays matches.
They were pushed hard by NRG, who also raced to the all important Match Point threshold. However, on their favourite map, a Team Falcons Regional Finals win always seemed inevitable.
Team Falcons do the double with Regional Finals and Pro League win
There was a lot of expectations on Team Falcons when they formed ahead of the second split of the season. Some wondered if the ALGS POI Draft would disrupt this 'super team', but it has only seemed to benefit this all star roster.
One of the defining factors of Team Falcons this split has been their dominance on Storm Point. Their points per game average is unbelievable on the map, and reaching Match Point on Worlds Edge was key for Team Falcons.
This gave them two attempts to close out an overall Regional Finals win, but in true Team Falcons fashion, they only needed one.
Team Falcons prioritised Worlds Edge for their number one draft pick, and this also seemed to be a shrewd decision. Worlds Edge has been middling at times for this roster, but they had a huge 16 point game to reach the threshold in record time.
This dominant split and Regional Finals win will only further turn up the pressure on Team Falcons ahead of the EWC and ALGS Split 2 Playoffs. Nothing short of victory meets expectations for this roster. However, so far, this roster has done nothing else.
