Esports.gg sat down with Red Bull Legends Inn champions Reps and Verhulst for an exclusive interview about their victory, journey to the top, and more!
After nine intense rounds of Apex Legends competition, Jordan "Reps" Wolfe and Evan "Verhulst" Verhulst from TSM became the Red Bull Legends Inn champions! Esports.gg sat down with them for an exclusive interview about their victory, journey to the top, and more.
Reps and Verhulst become Red Bull Legends Inn champions
The Red Bull Legends Inn tournament featured audience-chosen game modes and hosted 19 teams competing for the lion's share of a $25,000 USD prize pool. After earning the highest score across nine rounds, Reps and Verhulst celebrated their victory on stage. Shortly after, they chatted with their biggest fans and supporters. In fact, while Verhulst revealed to esports.gg that his family came all the way out to Chicago to cheer him on, Reps said he recognized the fans who consistently attend their events.
"It feels like we have the largest fan base at every event," Reps said. "So it motivates you more to put on a good show for your fans. And it just feels really good to win something and then afterwards go hang out with the fans. You see them, they take a bunch of photos, it's just really cool. You actually see some familiar faces that you've seen at other events, too. And they're still supporting us years later— that's just the best."
Verhulst and Reps on their journey to the top
Reps and Verhulst also shared that winning a tournament immediately after a patch felt especially rewarding. Both were happy to perform well despite having minimal ranked practice beforehand. Additionally, since Red Bull Legends Inn had a surprise game mode each round, preparing for everything was difficult. However, their victory only made it all that more rewarding. Reps added that their years of gaming together worked to their advantage, too.
"It felt amazing. This tournament was super fun to play. It was super chaotic because one, it's a new patch, and two, we had no idea what was coming next. We couldn't plan for anything," Verhulst said. "[We had] no idea what comp we were gonna run, what guns we were gonna be using. It was really fun. It was super chaotic, and we were playing in the moment."
In terms of their thoughts on the aforementioned game modes, Verhulst said he enjoyed the Pathfinder one the most. Reps agreed, adding that he was all about the shotgun sniper one. They both also recalled how playing on edge brought out their best and pushed them to engage with teams and fight for a spot.
Then, when Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen and Timothy "iiTzTimmy" An went down in the final round, Verhulst noticed it immediately on the kill feed. Knowing that he and Reps held the points advantage, seeing the other duo eliminated meant their own victory was secured. With third place far behind, they were confident they’d already won. Verhulst and Reps then told esports.gg about their rivalry with ImperialHal and iiTzTimmy.
Verhulst: "I think a lot of people like to see us and Hal fighting to get on top of the leaderboard — just going back and forth."
Reps: "They like the rivalry. We're all friends at the end of the day, and we're still good friends, but the rivalry is fun for the viewers, for sure."

Red Bull Gaming gives trophy to each player
When esports.gg asked for their thoughts on the overall event itself, Verhulst noted how it ran super smoothly. Red Bull Gaming also went over the top in a good way — especially with all of the decorations and theming of the hotel.
"It really felt like we were just in our own little like Apex paradise out here," Verhulst said.
"And the cherry on top is they actually gave us each a trophy," Reps added. "Nobody does that. We always have to battle for the trophy and choose who gets it, and us all getting a trophy is like Red Bull just went above and beyond."
Reps returns to streaming
As for parting words, Reps said that he'll return to streaming — and Verhulst will make sure he does just that.
"I haven't been streaming or anything for two months. I've just been taking a break from that, and I made a deal with myself that when I get back from this tournament, I'm going to be back to streaming full time. So I'm back streaming full time," Reps said before gesturing at Verhulst. "He's gonna hold me accountable."
