In Season 24, Red Armour will be a very rare thing to encounter in Apex Legends
Apex Legends Season 24 is making a huge change to armour. Players will now be capped to Purple Armour (100 HP) from the EVO System. That means that Red Armour is no longer an item in the game and players cannot easily obtain this highest level of protection from dealing damage, scanning Care Packages etc.
Now, Red Armour (125 HP) is only avaliable through a brand new Red Helmet that is "ultra rare" and only avaliable through Care Packages and Mythic Bins.

Everything you need to know about Apex Legends Season 24:
Apex Season 24 caps players to Purple Armour
This change, which almost entirely caps you to Purple Armour in Apex Season 24, is one of a number of changes that look set to speed up fights. Developers have identified that third parties are an inevitability, rather than a possibility, when fighting.
The decision to essentially reduce armour values in the last third of the game, is combined with the removal of Helmets and a buff to every single weapon in the game. Overall these hugely reduce "TTK" (time to kill).
The result of these changes should be quicker fights, and hopefully less third parties. End games previously had almost everyone on Red Armour, whereas now this will be a very limited resource. This is especially true per team. It is unlikely that a single team will be able to get three Red Helmets.

Is this like Season 6?
This reduction of TTK might send minds back to Season 6. This was the season that reduced all armour values, and quickly reverted after a poor reception.
However, in an interview with esports.gg, Respawn dev Eric Canavese says the game has evolved considerably since this change.
"It's not quite the same. The game has evolved so much from Season 6 that we really feel like it's the right time to re-evaluate that. I think the metas that we are currently experiencing right now goes to show that when these encounters take a really long time, and you are in metas like a heavy support meta where it is tough to finish those fights, these fights elongate into not just a third party but a fourth or a fifth party the game doesn't feel very strategic. It feels very reactionary.
"So, really the idea behind making these weapons more lethal and lowering the max amount of health you can get in the end game is to make sure these fights are resolving. So they are a little more punctuated. You can actually say okay this fight is over, now lets turn and get ready for the third party. Or maybe they haven't actually had enough time to get there yet and you can take a breath and make a rotation.
"We want the game to feel strategic and tactical in that nature. So this change is really designed to target how the game has specifically evolved since Season 6."
