Launch Royale lets you play OG Apex Legends in Apex Season 23

You can relive your OG Apex Legends days with Launch Royale in Season 23. This mode will take you right back to how the game played at launch, in 2019. That includes original Legends, with original Weapons.

Launch Royale games will also take place on the original Apex Legends map, OG Kings Canyon. This mode has been kept under wraps by Respawn, who are replicating the original Apex Legends surprise launch with their Season 23 rollout.

It's been over five years since Apex Legends released, and the game is hardly recognisable to it's release. While only natural after five years of development, there is always something nostalgic about going all the way back to how things used to be. Simpler times!

For the first time in Apex Legends history, Launch Royale will let players experience the game exactly as it was when the game released. You'll only be able to play the games original Legends, and use original Weapons. Legends and Weapons will have the same stats as they did when the game released. Yes, that means you should play Wraith and use a Wingman every single game.

The Mastiff and the Kraber are care-package weapons.

It's not just the content in the game that is a major throwback in Apex Legends Season 23. The way Respawn and EA have handled the announcement of the seasons updates, and the Launch Royale mode is exactly like how Apex released.

Apex Legends was released with essentially no warning. The game was released as a total surprise, and that is essentially what has happened with this season. There has not been a single teaser about this OG Apex Legends mode. It was not included in the Press and Media preview, and the first information dropped just hours before the season launched.
