Apex Legends Threat Level event: New skins, TDM, and Control game modes
Respawn has revealed the first event for Season 17. The Apex Legends Threat Level event will include new skin recolors, a modified TDM mode, and a two-week run of Control.
Apex Legends Season 17 is kicking off with a brand-new event on May 23. The Apex Legends Threat Level event is unique because fans voted for which game mode they wanted to see. The winner is in, and it's Control! However, the limited-time-mode (LTM) for this event is a variant of Team Death Match (TDM).
Apex Legends Threat Level event
Respawn is starting off with the new events very quickly, as Season 17 just started on May 9. However, this isn’t too surprising since Season 16 had more events than any season previously and Respawn must find these events successful. It seems that trend will most likely continue into Season 17 with more skin recolors and collection events.
When does this event start?
Apex Legends announced that the Threat Level event will begin on Tuesday, May 23. The event will run for two weeks, in which you’ll be able to complete the free reward tracker, buy new cosmetics, and play Control non-stop.
Tons of new skins and recolors will be released with the Threat Level event. They all seem to be following a blue, purple, and gold palette with a vague alien theme. Here are the skins we know about. There will be seven bundles, which will include skins for Newcastle, Pathfinder, Wraith, Ash, Caustic, Fuse, and Horizon. There will also be a free skin for Crypto in the reward tracker!
The new gun skins will be for the L-Star, Triple Take, Sentinel, Hemlok, Wingman, Rampage, and Charge Rifle.
Free reward tracker
The reward tracker for the Threat Level event includes two charms, two holosprays, a Spitfire skin, and a Crypto skin.
New LTM and two-week Control takeover
Alongside the new skins, the Threat Level event will have a limited-time unshielded TDM mode included into the mixtape. Additionally, for two weeks starting on May 23, you’ll be able to play Control whenever you want rather than waiting for it to shuffle through the mixtape. Though, come on, we all know Gun Run is the best mode. So far, it doesn’t seem like there will be anything special added to Control for this event.
