Respawn Entertainment took to Twitter to reveal the launch date of Apex Legends Mobile on Wednesday. The mobile version of the popular shooter is expected to go through a limited launch across specific regions. With other popular shooters like Fortnite, Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile celebrating success with their mobile versions, Apex Legends players have been calling on Respawn to launch a mobile version of their favorite shooter for a while.
In a detailed blog post, Respawn Entertainment have provided some information on how Apex Legends Mobile is expected to rollout. Starting next week, Apex Legends mobile will be available to download in select countries. The game will be playable on both iOS as well as Android devices and the requirements don't look too hefty.
In which countries does the game launch?
As per the FAQs in their blog post, Apex Legends Mobile will be available to download in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia.
It'll be a limited regional launch so it's safe to assume that Respawn intends to tweak and improve the game further based on the information they receive from it.
What kind of content and features will be available at launch?
Players will be able to pick between Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Octane, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Caustic during this launch. Respawn Entertainment have also promised a "select number of exciting systems and features for testing". It'll be interesting to see if Apex Legends Mobile is used as a testbed for introducing new features to the main game.
Is there any indication of a global launch?
Respawn has claimed that they will share more updates on the global launch after they've made "more informed decisions from the limited region launch". If you live in one of the participating countries, you can pre-register for access to the game once the limited launch rolls out.
