The Apex Legends Global Series Year 5 Championship has begun! The 40 best Apex Legends teams clash to determine the one worthy to be called Champions. Here's what happened on day 1 of the ALGS Year 5 Championship Group Stage.

ENTER FORCE.36, Citadel Gaming leads the pack

Day 1 of the ALGS Year 5 Championship Group Stage concluded with all 40 teams playing through 12 maps each. The teams were divided into four groups of ten.

In an unexpected turn, the top squads on the leaderboard are the South Korean trio ENTER FORCE.36, followed by the British squad Citadel Gaming. The day ended with both teams being only one point apart from each other: E36 with 133 points and CTG at 132.

Day 1 of Groups involved Group A vs. Group BGroup C vs. Group DGroup B vs. Group D, and Group A vs. Group C. Each matchup had 6 matches played.

Team Falcons' Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen holds the highest kills so far after one day at the event, tallying 36 kills. He also has the most knockdowns at 50. Meanwhile, two Alliance players, Andre "unlucky" Türk and Miron "Effect" Novikov, are within the top 10 players with the most kills, with 28 and 25, respectively.
