The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan crowned Oblivion as the champions! Here's what happened in the ALGS Year 5 Championship grand final, standings, and more.
The org-less roster formed by Bowen "Monsoon" Fuller, joined by ex-KOI members Brandon "FunFPS" Groombridge, Miguel "Blinkzr" Quiles, and coach RubyKaster, lifted the ALGS Year 5 Championship trophy in the match point final after nine matches.
Oblivion will take home $600,000 USD in prize money, the ALGS Champs trophy, and the glory of being the best Apex Legends team in the world.
ALGS Year 5 Championship grand final
The following 20 teams qualified for the final after several days of intense competition.

Team Falcons opened the final with a win - a nice start for Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen and his squad of hopefuls. On the second map, they came in 2nd place as S8UL took the win, bringing the required 50 points for match point within reach for both teams.
ImperialHal also earned his 2000th career kill during this series.
In the third map, Oblivion took the win, but S8UL were a close 2nd place. Team Falcons, on the other hand, were eliminated 18th, then 16th on the next map.
FLCN finally made match point after match 5 with 9 kills and a 4th place finish, which placed them at a total of 56 points and a potential win by match 6. Oblivion and S8UL remained hot on their heels with 49 points each.
Falcons were once again eliminated at 18th in match 6, which gave the space to five more teams to reach the 50-point threshold. Among them was ENTER FORCE.36, who earned 22 points on this match only thanks to their win and kill points.
Match 7 looked like it was Team Falcons' - they reached the top 3 and the final ring. However, Fnatic were the ones who took the map. Another map with no win means more teams get to match point: Crazy Thieves and TSM. UNLIMIT joined them in match 8.
Match 9 saw the match point teams drop one by one quickly, until the final clash, where Oblivion stood as the remaining team on match point. They overcame fights against Supernova and Hotdog Mafia, and claimed the ALGS Year 5 Championship trophy.
