North America’s representatives in Japan are officially locked in.

Apex star Albralelie will make his return to top level ALGS LAN competition after the Stallions won the ALGS LCQ. They needed just seven games to pick up a Match Point victory and book their spot at the ALGS Championship later this year.

They will be joined by team Oblivion, who took second place and will round out a huge North American contingent at the ALGS season finale.

Albralelie and the Stallions qualify for the ALGS Championship

To many it won't come as a surprise that Albralelie and the Stallions took home first place in the ALGS LCQ. They dominated across the entire weekend, and started the day with a maximum ten Advance Starting Points.

They firmly proved why they were pre-event favourites winning the first game of the day. Stallions started in blistering style and raced to the all important 50 point threshold in just three games.

Usually, the first team that makes it past that threshold picks up some sort of unusual curse. Time and time again we've seen teams stumble after hitting 50. While Stallions did need a few games to find their win, seven games is still on the faster side for a Match Point event. This speaks to how strong the Stallions were across the entire finals.

Albralelie himself played out of his mind. He racked up 20 of the teams 34 kills, clocking over 7,500 damage in the process. This was by far the most kills in the entire lobby. It wasn't the most damage however, with that accolade going to Rambrro.

Now, Stallions will head to Japan as a firm dark horse. Albralelie is a multi-LAN champion in Apex Legends, and Scuwry also has significant LAN experience and is an ALGS Championship winner himself.

  • FURY - 43

Oblivion sneak qualification by a single point

Just like in EMEA the race for the second Champs spot was an incredibly close run thing. Thuggets, who have been on a miraculous run all the way from Challenger Circuit this season fell agonisingly short of a dream spot at Champs. They were pipped at the post by Oblivion, who managed to hang on until 5th and snag an extra placement point. This finest of margins is all that could separate the two teams.

However, Thuggets can at least take solace in an almost guaranteed invite to next years Pro League as a result of their incredible performance.
