Every character has decent potential in 2XKO, according to SonicFox. This tier list was built after the legendary fighting games player won the Texas Showdown 2026 Challenger tournament — in a duo with INZEM.
In the tier list by SonicFox, no fighter is lower than the B category. Quite interestingly, Ekko has not lost his top-most placement even after the recent nerfs. Yasuo is also in S, but his ordered position is lower now.
SonicFox has been playing Ahri in 2XKO ahead of the addition of Akali to the game. Them and INZEM are the only duo on the top level of mixed mode esports. Before winning in Texas, they were in the top 8 at Frosty Faustings XVIII, the first-ever official Major for 2XKO.

According to SonicFox, the game has only good characters to play, and the competitive potential of 2XKO is not yet fully unleashed.

Ahri and Teemo on the top
Two characters SonicFox and INZEM play competitively in duos and mixed mode tournaments have been placed in the S tier: Ahri and Teemo. At Texas Showdown, INZEM’s Teemo was on point in the top 8 matches.
Nerfs for Ekko and Yasuo made them less broken, but these 2XKO champions are still very strong. Yasha won the vienallity XL tournament with the Ahri / Yasuo team. His grand final opponent was on Yasuo / Teemo.
Illaoi also proved her top placement in 2XKO esports tournaments. Bleed won with Ekko / Illaoi, and he was in the grand final at Texas Showdown with the same team.
Is Blitzcrank not too bad?
One of the surprising features of the 2XKO tier list by SonicFox is the lack of C and D-tier characters. Many players considered Blitzcrank a bad pick, but SonicFox still believes in this LoL support champion.

However, Caitlyn and Darius are quite low. Caitlyn is often called unnecessarily complicated. Darious is so big that it is easy to punish him with high-mobility characters.
Akali is coming to shuffle the meta
SonicFox clearly states that their tier list was made ahead of the Akali release in 2XKO. The ninja may bring interesting changes to the game’s balance. Her speed and mixup tools promise to be very effective in the esports environment.
Compared to other fighting games, 2XKO still features notably fewer characters. The improvements in this department are coming, as Senna joins the games soon after Akali.
The next showcase of the 2XKO competitive meta is planned for the start of May. Evo Japan 2026 is the second Major, and SonicFox has registered for it. The event is from May 1 to May 3.
