In VALORANT patch 12.01, Riot Games is bringing back the Esports Hub and requiring some players to activate MFA.
After a packed 2026 season launch, VALORANT patch 12.01 are smaller in scope, but it still brings a few interesting highlights. The Esports Hub is back in-game! Now you can keep up with your favorite teams’ results, check out the rosters, and much more.
Competitive updates
For a while now, Riot Games has been working on targeting smurfs in your ranked queues. Starting from VALORANT patch 12.01, all European (EU) accounts detected for sharing and all Ascendant+ players must enable the Riot Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) to access the competitive queue.
Riot Games tested this in 2025 across North America (NA), Brazil, Latin America (LATAM), and South Korea. Other game modes and ranks remain unaffected. This update will also come to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region in 2026. Riot still recommends that everyone enable MFA to keep their accounts safe.
Esports Hub back in VALORANT patch notes 12.01
If you’re tired of scrolling through countless Liquipedia pages to track team rosters and results, Riot Games is bringing back the Esports Hub so you can stay updated more easily.
Now, without leaving the game, you can view team rosters, follow the Path to Champions, and keep up with international league kickoffs. You can also check all the event schedules.
PC-only bug fixes
In Premier, there were some bugs that Riot has already taken care of. They fixed an issue where team tags were sometimes not displayed in the custom game lobby and other social modals. They have also taken care of an issue where long Premier team names and tags were sometimes overlapping.
