This is it, the final showdown. FNATIC and NRG clash for the VALORANT Champions 2025 trophy. Who will rise to claim the crown?
The ultimate showdown will determine whether FNATIC or NRG is crowned the best team in the world at VALORANT Champions 2025. EMEA clashes with NA once again in what promises to be one of the most thrilling matches of the year. Everything is on the line. This is their final opportunity to show the fruits of all their hard work since the start of the season.
NRG and FNATIC have faced each other twice: once in Masters Tokyo, where the European team emerged victorious, and again in the VALORANT Champions 2025 Playoffs, which resulted in FNATIC being sent to the Lower Bracket. Their rematch will be at the most important moment of their year, the Champions 2025 Grand Finals. In a best-of-five (Bo5) series, we will see the best fight for the golden trophy.

New agent: Veto
As is customary, Riot Games revealed a new map or agent during the Champions Grand Finals, and this edition was no exception. Introducing Veto, the 29th agent added to the game on Oct. 7. He is a Sentinel from Senegal, and his kit is focused on destroying enemies' abilities. You can check a complete guide of Veto's kit here.
FNC vs NRG at the Champions 2025 Grand Finals
The biggest event of the year is almost ending, and only one team will lift the golden trophy. Either Fnatic or NRG will emerge as the winner. And this year, the narratives have been on point.
FNATIC has yet to claim a Champions title, even though several of their players have competed in every edition. Jake "Boaster" Howlett, FNATIC's IGL, has reached every Playoff stage but has never lifted the trophy. Time and again, they came close, so close, but the ultimate prize has always remained just out of reach.
On the other side, NRG entered the tournament as underdogs: a squad featuring three rookies, a player who has never changed teams, and a former Champions 2023 winner. Few expected them to advance this far with three players lacking international experience, yet they defied expectations. Their run in Champions 2025 has been nothing short of remarkable, impeccable from start to finish. Ethan "Ethan" Arnold, the IGL, could be the first player to win this title twice if NRG defeats Fnatic on Oct. 5.

FNC vs NRG at Champions 2025: Match recaps
Be sure to check back here for all the match highlights as the action unfolds.
Map 1
FNATIC started strong, with a roaring crowd supporting them since the beginning of the match. That is the power of playing in their home region. The pistol round was theirs. The first map had just started when NRG called a tech pause. FNATIC attack was looking very coordinated, but NRG defense, supported by brawk's odin and mada's operator, was tough to counter. In the ideal position, where FNATIC failed to check, NRG's player skuba scored three kills. NRG was in a different world, scoring clutch after clutch, defuse after defuse.
FNATIC started slow, with a 3-13 defeat against a confident and dominant NRG. Will they be able to bring a different playstyle into the second map?
Map 2
If you are one of those who still do not believe in NRG's firepower, I hope this match is proving you wrong. Once again, FNATIC couldn't run away from this roster attitude and strategy. The first half was clearly NRG, in a 9-3 score, but there is still a lot of VALORANT to be played. Can FNATIC reset and come back stronger?
As the second half began, FNATIC was struggling; their synergy was off, and the team lacked the usual coordination. It was nearly impossible to compete against a strong NRG. Time after time, brawk's odin was disrupting the entire match, supported by the well-coordinated efforts of mada and Ethan, both of whom demonstrated impressive aim. NRG was one map away from winning the VALORANT Champions 2025 tournament.
Map 3
Map three was a complete rollercoaster. Just when everyone thought it was the end for FNATIC, who were trailing 1-11, they made an incredible comeback that showcased why they are one of the most experienced teams in the world. Despite their shaky start, that deficit turned out to be the catalyst they needed to re-enter the game.
There’s nothing more thrilling than witnessing the beginning of a reverse sweep, just like in the last Champions 2024. FNATIC promises more gameplay ahead of the next map.
Map 4
Map four showcased FNATIC's prowess. Alfajer awakened, reset, and returned to his signature Sage, harmonizing the team's synergy and coordination that had seemed lost at the beginning of this series.
Despite losing the opening pistol round, FNATIC quickly bounced back with six consecutive rounds, seizing control of the game early on. Their signature chaos and relentless pressure began to unsettle NRG, who tried to fight back but couldn’t stop the series from heading to a fifth and final map.
Map 5
It all came down to their final chance to prove who truly is the best team in the world. Just when the series seemed out of FNATIC’s reach, they mounted an incredible comeback, reminding everyone why they’re one of the most exciting teams to watch. But NRG fans weren’t left out. Even without the home-crowd advantage, the arena was filled with cheers for their impressive performance and fearless play. Will they be able to stop the reverse sweep on Sunset?
Yes, they did it! NRG are your VALORANT Champions 2025, and Ethan makes history as the first player to ever claim the title twice. What an incredible achievement, congratulations to NRG!
