Ahead of the VALORANT Champions 2025, Riot Games unveiled a special main screen honoring the tournament’s most iconic plays.

After updating VALORANT, you’ll be greeted with a brand-new Champions main screen. What might look like just a cool design is actually a flashback to four legendary plays from Champions history. Let’s break them down one by one.

Champions 2024: EDG ZmjjKK 4K against Team Heretics

The first VALORANT Champions moment in the main screen is actually the most recent one. We start with Jett taking down another Jett, a moment reminiscent of last year’s Champions. Back then, against Team Heretics, EDward Gaming had been trailing 0–2 before mounting an incredible reverse sweep.

In the decisive match, Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang, better known as KangKang, lit up the server with a devastating 4k using just a Guardian.

The clutch round shifted the momentum and set the stage for EDG's victory. This was one of the most intense matches of Champions 2024, held in South Korea. At just 20 years old, KangKang achieved his first Champions title, making him part of the first Chinese team to do so. Now, we will see him again in the Champions 2025 tournament.

Champions 2023: EG Boostio ace against Paper Rex

Evil Geniuses were competing for their first title when Kelden "Boostio" Pupello made an incredible play by eliminating the entire enemy team, Paper Rex, who had also never won Champions. With a clean ace using Killjoy, he still had enough time to defuse the spike and secure the victory for that round. After winning Champions 2023, Boostio joined another American organization, 100 Thieves.

EG was one game away from taking the trophy home. Defending the C site, Boostio went crazy and killed PRX Jingg, giving him access to a vandal. That was enough for him to pop off and pull one of the most surprising aces of the whole tournament.

Champions 2022: aspas 1v3 against OpTic Gaming

LOUD x OpTic Gaming were in a serious competition back in 2022. After losing in the Masters Reykjavík Grand Final, held in Iceland for 0-3, LOUD was looking for their revenge in the Champions 2022 Grand Finals, held in Istanbul. After that encounter, they were not the favorites, but no one was expecting the Brazilian team to perform as they did.

In a very intense moment, with low HP, 13 seconds on the clock, and fighting against three players on Bind, Erick "aspas" Santos exceeded himself in an amazing 1v3, killing everyone. They ended up winning that map and the VALORANT Champions 2023 tournament. You will be able to see aspas play at the Champions 2025 for MIBR.

Champions 2021: 10hp zeek clutch vs Gambit Esports

And finally, we go back in time to the first VALORANT Champions tournament, held in Berlin, Germany, in 2021. Ascend and Gambit Esports were fighting for their first Champions title ever. The match was too close, each team taking one map, giving everything to take this trophy home. But in a very complicated moment, Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt surprised everyone.

His teammate was still alive, with an operator, looking for anyone in the tube, when ACE zeek killed two enemies in a row, ending with 10 hp only. GMB Chronicle kills ACE cNad, leaving zeek the last chance to defuse the spike and win the round. As soon as Chronicle appears in his camera, zeek just headshots him and wins the round by 00.22 seconds.

That's all for now. Stick around for more VALORANT news, guides, interviews, and updates on esports.gg.
