Like many games, The First Descendant has a max level you can reach. Hitting that threshold doesn’t stop the fun, however.

As you grind through The First Descendant, you'll eventually reach its max level. From collecting records to stopping the Vulgus threat, soon enough, you will hit level 40. Thankfully, that's not where the game and the grind ends.

What is the max level you can reach in The First Descendant?

As mentioned, the maximum level is 40 in The First Descendant. You won't be able to get there rapidly, but you can certainly do some things to level up faster. There's plenty of story to enjoy on your way to that level 40 cap.

Why level 40? Who knows why it is the max level in The First Descendant. That's what NEXON chose and that's the goal we have to reach because of it. You will absolutely hit it before you reach any sort of stopping point in the game, so you'll need to find other things to do.

The good news is that there are a lot of tasks you can undertake after you hit level 40. Here is a nice list of what is available to do when the max level is reached in The First Descendant:

Those are just the basic things you can do once you hit max level. There's exploration of the various zones and even simply making friends you can party up with whenever you're online. Truly, it only stops when you want it to stop, so dive back in and keep the grind going.
