Make the most of Pokémon GO Fest Global with our handy guide.
The Pokémon GO Fest Global is finally here this weekend. You can take part on Saturday July 13, and Sunday July 14 between 10am and 6pm in your local time zone. Pokémon GO Fest Global is the biggest weekend of the year in the game, and is an amazing time to play Pokémon GO.
With our tips and tricks, you can make the most of your playtime over the weekend.
Pokémon GO Fest Global event bonuses
To kick us off, let's look at the bonuses that will be active during the event.
All Trainers:
- Lure Modules will last for 1-hour
- There will be surprise encounters in GO Snapshot.
Trainers with the Paid GO Fest Global Ticket:
- Up to 6 Special Trades each day
- 1/2 Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event
- Special Pokémon hatching from 7 km Eggs
- Trainers can open up to 40 Gifts each day
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pokémon from 7 km Egg
- Up to 9 free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
- 2× friendship bonus damage in raids
Thanks to the Community Challenge, the following bonuses will also be in effect:
- Beast Balls will be avaliable after defeating an Ultra Beast in Raids
- Party Power Damage will charge up faster in Raids
While there are a few bonuses for all Trainers, you'll need the ticket to really enjoy GO Fest Global to its maximum. Particularly, with the boosted shiny odds, Pokémon GO Fest Global can be a great time to grab hard to get shinies.
Additionally, the 7 km Egg Pool is fantastic. Rare regional Pokémon like Corsola are in Eggs, can be shiny, and have boosted shiny odds. Half hatch distances means you can tear through a batch of Eggs in no time at all.
Prepare your item bag
A key aspect to prepare is to take time to get your bag ready for Pokémon GO Fest Global. You want to make sure you have a good supply of Poké Balls. Some of the spawns have pretty low catch rates so you'll need a lot of balls. If your bag is full, throw away regular Pokéballs in favour of Great and Ultra Balls.
You also need to make sure you have enough space for Pokémon. The day before, and the time between the two GO Fest Global days is a great chance to clean out your bag. Trade, transfer all those Pokémon you don't need to clear as much space as possible.
Finally, grab any Incubators, Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces that you want to use this weekend if you're prepared to send some coins in the store.
Pokémon GO Fest Global best spawns
There is a whole range of different Pokémon spawning during GO Fest Global. Naturally, some of them are a touch more exciting than others.
However, almost all of these Pokémon (Carbink...) can be shiny, so this is a great chance to target those shinies you don't have - if nothing else.
We've pulled out some of the best Pokémon in each Habitat for you to go after during GO Fest Global.
Dawn Meadow
- Pikachu wearing a sun crown
- Ducklett
- Axew
- Inkay

Pokémon GO Fest Global Raids
There is a huge amount of Raids spawning during Pokémon GO Fest Global. These are split into Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is all about Ultra Beasts, while Sunday is all about the two fusion forms of Necrozma.
Saturday Raids:
Sunday Raids:
Additionally, Moon and Sun Crown Pikachu, Jangmo-o, Espeon and Umbreon will appear in Raids. Overall, there are a lot of great Raids. Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma are obviously the standouts, but a lot of the Ultra Beasts are very powerful too. For instance, Kartana and Xurkitree are both leaders in their respective typing's.
Need to do more Raids than time allows? Remote Raids are unlimited during Pokémon GO Fest Global.
Best Mega Pokémon to use
The best mega Pokémon to use this weekend is Mega Rayquaza by far. Especially if you have one at Mega Level 3. It will boost the candy rewards from Dragon, Psychic and Flying-types. This will hit all forms of Necrozma as well as a lot of the wild spawns. It also directly counters several of the other Ultra Beasts.
Good luck this weekend, Trainers!
