Take on Mega Absol in Pokémon GO with our Raid Guide.
Mega Absol is back in Pokémon GO Mega Raids. This powerful Mega Pokémon is one of the top 10 best Dark-types in the game and is a very useful addition to your collection.
These Raids run until September 14. We haven't seen Mega Absol in Raids for quite a while, so if you're looking to fill out your Mega Dex or work towards a Platinum Badge these Raids are well worth your while.
Plus, you'll earn Mega Energy from these Raids that can be used on any Absol. So, if you have a good IV Absol already you just need to do enough Raids to get the Absol Mega Energy you need.
Best Mega Absol counters in Pokémon GO:
Mega Absol has a weakness to Bug, Fairy and Fighting-type attacks. In addition it has a double resistance to Psychic-type attacks, and a resistance to Dark and Ghost-type attacks too.
Mega Lucario Force Palm & Aura Sphere | Keldeo Low Kick & Sacred Sword | Terrakion Double Kick & Sacred Sword | Mega Rayquaza Dragon Tail & Dragon Ascent | Mega Gardevoir Charm & Dazzling Gleam | Mega Heracross Counter & Megahorn | Pheromosa Low Kick & Bug Buzz | Mega Blaziken Counter & Focus Blast | Primal Groudon Mud Shot & Precipice Blades | Xurkitree Spark & Dazzling Gleam | Dusk Mane Necrozma Metal Claw & Sunsteel Strike | Tapu Koko Volt Switch & Natures Madness |
After the recent Pokémon GO PvE changes, the best Pokémon for Raids has shifted a bit. Some Fighting-type Pokémon like Conkeldurr are no longer among the strongest choices for Raids. Mega Lucario is by far the best Mega Absol counter in Pokémon GO at the moment. If you have both, backing Mega Lucario up with Keldeo and Terrakion will give you a really strong team.
Then, you could use a Pokémon like Dusk Mane Necrozma. This Pokémon is hugely powerful, but isn't a Mega Pokémon. That means you can have more than one in your Raid team and pair it with Mega Lucario.
Xurkitree is also good for this Raid, but you will need to swap its Charged Attack to Dazzling Gleam.
