Catch Tapu Koko with our Pokémon GO raid guide.

As part of the new Pokémon GO season, Tapu Koko will be back in raids between March 1 and March 14. The generation seven legendary has a unique typing and is the guardian of Melemele Island.

As well as returning to raids, Tapu Koko will have a new exclusive Charged Attack. Any existing Tapu Koko you have will only be able to learn this move via Elite TM.

The move is "Natures Madness." It's a Fairy-type move that hits hard, which will make Tapu Koko more relevant in the Fairy-type category. It's worth picking up a few Tapu Koko with this move to add to your Pokémon GO collection.

Best Tapu Koko counters in Pokémon GO:

Tapu Koko has a pretty good pairing in Pokémon GO. As a dual Fairy and Electric-type it has several resistances, including a double resistance to Dragon-types.

While Tapu Koko only has two weaknesses, to Ground and Poison, there are some pretty powerful Ground-type Pokémon, which means it can struggle.

Thankfully, with so many good Pokémon to choose from in the Ground category especially, this does make Tapu Koko reasonably simple to take down.

Here are the best Tapu Koko counters in Pokémon GO:

Primal Groudon
Mud Shot & Precipice Blades
Mega Garchomp
Mud Shot & Earth Power
Excadrill (Shadow)
Mud-Slap & Scorching Sands
Mega Gengar
Lick & Sludge Bomb
Therian Landorus
Mud Shot & Sandsear Storm
Nihilego
Poison Jab & Sludge Bomb
Rhyperior
Mud-Slap & Earthquake
Mamoswine
Mud-Slap & High Horsepower
Incarnate Landorus
Mud Shot & Earth Power
Roserade
Poison Jab & Sludge Bomb
Overqwil
Poison Jab & Sludge Bomb
Mega Beedrill
Poison Jab & Sludge Bomb

There are plenty of powerful and easily accessible Pokémon that you can use to build your team for this raid. Everyone should have Pokémon like Garchomp and Groudon after recent events. Excadrill, while better as a Shadow can also be powerful in it's standard form. Roselia was readily available during GO: Tour, so a good Roserade should be achievable too.

Mega Garchomp, Mega Gengar and Primal Groudon are all also good counters in their standard form. As you can only have one Mega Evolved Pokémon at once, don't be shy to include the standard forms of these Pokémon in your raid team.
