Best Snorlax ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Snorlax finally gets an ex copy with the release of Eevee Grove, but as expected of the sleeping Pokémon, most Snorlax ex decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket can hit pretty hard but are slow as hell.

With a promising HP of 160, Snorlax ex is capable of surviving a turn against most of the hard hitters in the current meta, like Primarina ex, Silvally, Buzzwole ex, and Solgaleo ex. Snorlax ex’s move, Flop-Down Punch, boasts a damage of 130, but it forces Snorlax ex to become Asleep after usage.

Since Snorlax ex’s effectiveness relies on whether it will heal from its Asleep condition or not, it’s important to time its attacks properly to ensure that it can take out vital targets in the field.

Here’s a sample deck that you might want to try featuring Snorlax ex in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

For this Snorlax ex deck, the Sleeping Pokémon will get the help of Arceus ex and Flareon to take control of the first turns. Snorlax ex will need four Energies before it can take the Active Spot.

Note: Select Fire Energy as your deck’s default Energy for this build.

You can start the game with an Arceus ex or Eevee and set Snorlax ex up on the Bench Spot. Eevee will be the better and safer choice as your Active Pokémon since it can help you draw an extra card per turn. Once Eevee becomes a Flareon, you can begin your offensive while powering up Snorlax ex with some Fire Energies.

In case you have no Basic Pokémon other than Snorlax ex, it can still hold its own with its Full-Mouth Manner ability. Just keep on feeding it the Energy it needs to attack.

You will score points if Snorlax ex can target your opponent’s low-HP Pokémon. After using its move, Snorlax ex will have the Asleep Special Condition, so there’s a 50% chance that it won’t be able to attack again in the next turn.

Now comes the tricky part of playing the Snorlax ex deck. If your Snorlax ex just took a heavy hit on the previous turn, you can use Ilima to return it to your hand. This allows you to play it again with full HP and without the Asleep condition. However, you'll need to power set it up the second time with the right quantity of Energies.

You can count on Pokémon Center Lady and a couple of Potions to amplify Snorlax ex’s healing ability. Your deck’s healing output will surely give your opponent some headache.

If you want, you can replace the Red Card with another Pokémon Tool, like a second Giant Cape, to further augment Snorlax’s already high HP. However, Red Card can work wonders in PVP, especially when your opponent relies on draw engine mechanics.

This deck can perform well against Pokémon ex, especially those that require multiple Energies to become effective. If you’re lucky enough to get heads during your coin tosses, Snorlax ex can just spam its move and end the game in a few turns.

Watch out for Oricorio, though, but Flareon is usually enough to take it down in two turns.

Quicker decks will easily overwhelm this deck, especially Water- and Fighting-type decks like Lucario and Starmie ex. Also, if Snorlax keeps on sleeping in at least two consecutive turns, it’s basically a sitting duck on your Active Spot unless you have your Potion cards or Pokémon Center Lady.
