Let's break down the deck further.
Pokémon cards in the Blastoise EX deck build
This deck is for players who wish to get Blastoise out on the field as fast as possible with as many Water Energies attached to it as they can get. The card's famous move, Hydro Bazooka, does 100 damage with three energies attached to it but does an additional 60 damage with five or more energies attached to it.
Aside from the Blastoise evolution line, the deck also contains two Articuno EX cards (regular Articuno cards work too). This Pokémon is incredibly efficient to have in your deck, as it is a Basic Pokémon and can be played straight from the hand to the field.
The third and final Pokémon included in this deck is Meowth. While this cat-like Pokémon may not be as powerful as the others, its Payday attack allows you to draw one card. This ability is huge for those trying to get Blastoise in their hand.

Trainer cards in the Blastoise EX deck build
This Blastoise EX deck has 10 trainer cards, which is more than many have in other decks. To start out, we included two Poké Ball cards, which allow players to take a random Basic monster from their deck and add it to their hand. Not only is Squirtle a basic monster, but so are Articuno and Meowth.
Professor's Research and Potion are both common cards to find in one's deck, which is why we included them in ours. The ability to heal 20 damage to your Pokémon and draw two cards are both essential.
Sabrina and Misty, however, are the two most important Trainer cards. Sabrina lets you switch your opponent's Active Pokémon with one of their Benched Pokémon. The Misty Trainer card lets you flip a coin, and every heads you get (until you get tails) is one Water Energy that you can add to one of your Pokémon.
If you are lucky, you could get a multitude of heads to add to your Blastoise.
