With the addition of Juno, Overwatch 2 has a total of 41 playable characters. There are currently 12 tanks, 18 damage heroes, and 10 support heroes. Each hero has their own backstory and lore as well.
Juno, for example, is a the first human born on Mars. This was during Project Red Promise. However, during this terraforming project, dust storms took over Mars and the colony lost contact with the Lucheng Interstellar company. Juno was then sent to Earth. Now, her goal is to find a way to save her home planet.
